Jewelry Care
Caring for Your Lioren Jewels
Crafted with care. Worn with meaning. Preserved with love.
Each Lioren piece tells a story, your story. With thoughtful care, your jewelry will shimmer through every chapter.
General Care for All Jewelry
- Remove before rituals. Take off your jewelry before bathing, swimming, exercising, or applying lotions, perfumes, or hair products. Chemicals, sweat, and moisture can dull shine or accelerate wear.
- Store with intention. Keep each piece in its Lioren velvet pouch or a soft-lined jewelry box. Separate items to avoid scratching, tangling, or metal-on-metal contact.
- Last on, first off. Put your jewelry on after you're dressed and before undressing to avoid snagging or bending delicate parts.
Metal-Specific Care
925 Sterling Silver
- May naturally oxidize over time. This is normal and can be easily polished.
- Use a soft polishing cloth (like the one included with your order) to restore shine.
- For deeper cleaning: Mix a few drops of mild dish soap in warm water, gently rub with a soft toothbrush, rinse, and dry completely.
18k Gold Vermeil
- Gold vermeil is a thick layer of 18k gold over sterling silver. It offers beauty and durability, but still requires gentle care.
- Avoid excessive rubbing or polishing, which may thin the gold layer over time.
- Gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth after wearing. Avoid chemicals or harsh cleaners.
Solid Gold (18k)
- Solid gold is more durable and water-resistant but still benefits from gentle treatment.
- Clean occasionally with a solution of mild soap and warm water, then buff with a lint-free cloth.
- Safe for daily wear but should still be stored carefully to avoid scratches.
Rhodium-Plated Pieces
- Rhodium adds a luxurious silvery finish and enhances tarnish resistance.
- Avoid abrasive cloths or chemical cleaners. Clean only with water and a soft cloth.
- If the rhodium plating eventually fades, it can be re-plated to restore the finish.
Rose Gold & White Gold
- These are typically plated over yellow gold or silver. Treat like gold vermeil.
- Wipe gently with a dry cloth after each wear to remove skin oils and moisture.
Gemstones & Birthstones
- All birthstones used in Lioren pieces are carefully selected for beauty and clarity. Many are natural or lab-grown.
- Clean gently with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners or soaking.
- Avoid exposure to extreme heat, chemicals, or long-term sun to preserve color brilliance.
Textured Finishes & Mixed Metals
- Hammered, brushed, or matte finishes may subtly evolve with wear. This is part of their natural story.
- Mixed metal pieces (e.g., silver with gold bezels) should be cleaned with a cloth only. Avoid polishing creams or solutions.
